DIET
When people talk about "going on a diet", they usually mean they are trying to limit the amount and type of food that they eat, in order to become thinner. Nevertheless, diet actually refers to sensible nutrition for a variety of purpose - to gain, as well as to lose weight. A diet can also be done as part of medicinal procedures, for example, to counteract summer heat or winter cold and treat someone who suffers from stoach troubles.
